Prof. Emmanuel Kasimbazi
Senior Researcher
Prof. Kasimbazi is a senior researcher with Afya na Haki, he is a professor of environmental law and policy and director of the environmental law Centre, school of law, Makerere University Uganda. He has taught law for over 22 years. He is a former deputy dean, dean, and head of the department of public and comparative law respectively at the school of law, Makerere University. He is an external examiner of various universities in Africa. He is a senior researcher and consultant who has worked on different projects that deal with environmental law and policy in Uganda and other African countries. He has advised governments, and international and regional organizations on various aspects of international environmental law such as water, climate change, wildlife, oil, and gas among others. He has published widely in the areas of environmental law and has earned international recognition. He is a board member and leader in different organizations and a member of various professional bodies. He is a fellow of the Uganda national academy and the world academy of sciences.
