The purpose of this report is to examine and analyze how African judicial systems have applied positive African narratives in SRHR cases by identifying and examining a few African court decisions on SRHR, figuring out how African courts and judges applied positive African narratives in SRHR cases, and evaluating the effect of these positive African narratives on the determination and adjudication of SRHR cases. In doing so, the report evaluates how socioeconomic and cultural factors influenced the SRHR court decisions and highlights how already-existing gender disparities, sociocultural barriers, and economic disparities were anticipated to worsen, disproportionately affecting women and young girls, and how this had been acknowledged in African courts.
