Dessie Abebaw
Dessie Abebaw holds two bachelor’s degrees (Public Health and Health and Safety Officer) and a master’s in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the same institution.
With over 15 years of experience, Dessie has a strong background in conducting and leading impactful health research projects, including studies on mental health, maternal and child health, health systems, and infectious diseases. He has served as Principal Investigator on local and international projects, such as the “Fighting Cervical Cancer” community-based screening program in Ethiopia and a multi-center clinical trial on tuberculosis case detection.
Dessie has a proven track record in grant writing, policy development, and training in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. He has authored over 85 peer-reviewed articles and has received multiple awards for his research and training excellence.
